lifedirectionsRepresentatives of the 2015 Graduating Class from Western International High School presented at the Life Directions Board of Trustee Meeting at Lear Corporation today. Their presentation included a “Thank You” to The Board of Life Directions for their Support and Encouragement.
The co-chair of 2014 Western International High School (WIHS) Youth Board enjoyed the 2015 Auto Show with two of the members of the 2015 WIHS Youth Board. Life Directions’ Peer Mentoring Training balances hard work and dedication with celebrations. What better celebration could they choose than to celebrate one of Motown’s gift – the Automobile!
Life Directions Youth Board Members at The Skillman Foundation’s Community Meeting – February 10th with Helena Lazo and Terry Whifield, Partnership for Youth| Children, Youth and Families – Southwest Counseling Solutions, Maria Salinas, Executive Director & Adam Thibodeau, Community Organizer, Congress of Communities.
During the 2015 Tribute event, we will be announcing the collaborative relationship with Southwest Solutions, as we honor John Van Camp, its CEO. Joining with him will be Fr. Alex Steinmiller, a Passionist Priest, who co-founded Life Directions.
The Board of Trustees met in January 2015 to welcome three new board members: Ryan Sullivan of Quicken Loans/Rock Ventures, Jim Schmid of Resolution Experts and Bruce Wojciechowski, a teacher from Western International High School. Their presence will expand our network to collaborate with corporate and individual partners to invest in our prevention efforts.

National Prevention Week is a SAMHSA-supported annual health observance dedicated to increasing public awareness of, and action around, substance abuse and mental health issues. National Prevention Week 2015 will take place May 17-23, 2015.
