Detroit Celebrates Diversity with the Ulster Project
Martin Luther King dreamed of a nation where children of different race and ethnicity play together. It is a dream that we share at Life Directions through our core value of partnership in diversity.
Our story from Detroit shows how Peer Mentors were able to live this value through partnering with the Ulster Project.
Each year the Ulster Project bridges relationships between Irish youth, Protestant and Catholic, through summer visits to Southeastern Michigan. It serves as a timeout from the cultural conflict between them, in an effort to form positive relationships that will build for peace back home.
